Privacy and Confidentiality Policy
1. 100% security guarantee
1.1. The safety of customer’s money is 100% guaranteed when using VIB E-Banking service (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking and Mobile Banking App).

1.2. VIB will cover any loss should someone make an unauthorised transaction on customer’s account using VIB E-Banking service (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking and Mobile Banking App) provided customer has followed security guidance, the terms and conditions of VIB E-Banking service, including but not limit to protect customer’s username and password, and immediately notify us of the loss, theft or misuse of your password and of any suspicious activity on customer’s account.

1.3. MyVIB will ask customer to grant permission to access and use the camera and upload the images and files from customer’s device to VIB’s server when registering MyVIB, updating avatar, making financial transactions via QR code, proceeding international transfer etc. to ensure the regulations of the State Bank and VIB.

1.4. MyVIB will ask customer to grant permission to access and use customer’s location for the purpose of assisting customer in accessing promotional points, searching VIB’s branches ATMs, and supporting VIB’s promotional activities.

1.5. MyVIB will ask customer to grant permission to collect read and call log data as required by certain features on MyVIB or device requirements.

1.6. For some MyVIB functions such as transfer via mobile number, prepaid mobile topup, recharge mobile data, MyVIB download link sharing and/or any functions that use mobile number, customer will be asked to grant permission for MyVIB to access customer’s contact list on customer’s device and upload customer’s contact list on VIB’s server with purpose to support customer to search and use mobile number with ease.

1.7. VIB ensures that all customer’s information mentioned in section 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6 of this article is properly encrypted on VIB’s server. VIB also ensures that the information is used for the right purposes and not shared with any third party.

2. VIB’s security solutions and standards
2.1. VIB uses SSL 256-bits encryption to encrypt information to guarantee the integrity and security of customers’ personal information while using this service.

2.2. VIB uses Smart OTP - the latest technology in online banking security to assure authenticity and security of VIB E-Banking service (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking and Mobile Banking App).

2.3. Customers can only access the VIB E-Banking service (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking and Mobile Banking App) with a valid username and password. In addition, VIB offers a second layer of security via SMS or security device token to further validate client identity.

2.4. VIB will automatically log customers off after 15 minutes of inactivity. This will help minimizing risks to customers in case other people access the VIB E-Banking service (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking and Mobile Banking App) without customers’ knowledge.

2.5. Customers’ accounts will be automatically disabled after 05 incorrect log-on attempts in case fraudsters are trying to guess customers’ passwords.
3. Customers’ responsibilities
Besides VIB’s commitments, security and confidentiality also deeply involve customers while using VIB’s service. Customers must:

3.1. Frequently keep anti-virus programs, spyware termination programs and firewalls updated on the devices used to access VIB E-Banking service (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking and Mobile Banking App).

3.2. Directly access the link https://www.vib.com.vn. Never access VIB’s service from a link of any other 3rd party.

3.3. Always log out of VIB E-Banking service (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking and Mobile Banking App) by clicking “Log out”. Never use force quit.

3.4. Immediately close the browser after logging out.

3.5. Periodically change passwords and security questions (if any)

3.6. Immediately inform VIB on the changes on contact details such as email addresses, phone number, contact addresses.

3.7. Immediately inform VIB if detecting or suspecting any infringement to customers’ accounts.
4. Others
VIB has the rights to revise and update the points listed in this privacy and confidentiality policy at any time without prior notice to customers.

The recently updated Privacy and Confidentiality Policy will be stored/ displayed on VIB’s website.
5. Definitions
5.1. VIB E-Banking service (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking and Mobile Banking App) is the online banking service provided by VIB which helps clients to perform banking transactions through Internet.

5.2. OTP (One-time-password) is a password which is valid for only one login session or transaction at a certain time.

5.3. Token is a device which originates OTP (One-time-password)

5.4. SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is a protocol designed for clients to transmit data and information securely via the internet.

5.5. Spyware is a malicious software secretly installed on users’ computers, which collects information about the users without their knowledge and permission.

5.6. Firewall is a system designed to prevent and deny unauthorized access from outside the network and filter out invalid addresses based upon a set of rules and criteria.
